Day 1
Hoyo hoyo! Depart from Cape Town International Airport on a flight to Nelspruit. Transfer to a light aircraft and continue the journey into the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve.
Here you are met and transferred to Umkumbe. Your hosts will greet you and show you to your comfortable accommodation, complete with private viewing deck. There should still be time for an afternoon game drive looking out for the Big 5 (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino & leopard).
Days 2 & 3
Spend 3 nights at Umkumbe with all your meals, game drives, nature walks and park fees included.
Day 4
There should be time for a morning activity before transferring to the airstrip for the return flight to Cape Town.

Being a family owned and operated safari lodge, knowledge of the leopard-famed area is well established, while excellent safari guides are expert big-cat trackers, photographers, and lovers of African wildlife. During winter, the river thins out and dries up, opening up a private view of copious elephant herds, lion prides, and buffaloes that wander the riverbed in front of the lodge.

The lodge consists of ten chalets/rooms with most overlooking the Sand River. Guests regularly see elephants, hippos, buffalo and antelope grazing in the river bed. Additional facilities include a swimming pool, lounge, bar and dining area and the traditional boma, where guests will be served delicious and hearty South African meals.
