The lodge, situated in the foothills of the mighty Virungas, the chain of 15,000 ft volcanoes stretching through Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, affords wonderful views of the volcanoes and the surrounding countryside. Guest cottages and the main lodge building have been beautifully constructed and appointed and the lodge is the perfect base from which to explore this unique and fascinating corner of Africa.

All are stone buildings with Rwandese terracotta tile roofs, and feature large sitting areas, fireplaces, stylish en-suite bathrooms finished with Venetian plaster a dressing room and a sheltered veranda. Day 1
Arrive at Kigali Airport. Met and taked to the Genocide Memorial before enjoying lunch in Kigali. The drive to the lodge follows tthe road as it climbs to the base of the majestic volcanoes. Check into the lodge and overnight.
Day 2
As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist clinging to the summits, we meet the park authorities and make our way into the Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the unique vegetation can take several hours of challenging walking, in wet and muddy conditions. To see a gorilla, the trek will have been worth the hardship.
Day 3
There is the option of adding on a second Gorilla Trek or one of the many optional add ons. These should be pre-booked.
Day 4
Return transfer to Kigali.

There are ten groups/families of habituated gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. Gorillas do not stay in the same spot hence the need to do some tracking before you spend your magical one hour with them. They usually climb higher up the mountain in the dry season, and descend in the wet season, so your tour guide might have a general idea of where the group you are tracking might be during a particular season, but there are no guarantees that you will find them where you expect them to be.

  • Adjacent to the Parc National des Volcans and approximately 3 kms from the main entrance to the Park.
  • 20 beds (6 cottages, 1 family suite, 2 suite cottages).

  • Try not to make sudden movements ehil ein the presence of the gorillas and keep your voices low, so as to maintain a relaxed atmosphere for the gorillas.
  • Do not eat or drink when you are with the gorillas
